My dealer installed a roof-mount, 100w 30amp Samlex system in my 180. The pod also comes with Solar on the Side.  I'm looking at adding additional solar panels and wonder if the SotS goes through the SamLex charge controller or just directly to the batteries, requiring a separate charge controller.  I'm on the fence about roof-mounting the additional panels or keeping them portable. Thanks!

You should run the additional panel(s) through your existing charge controller--its 30 amp capacity is sufficient.  Just parallel the wiring from the roof top panel.  The solar plug on the side of the pod goes directly to the battery, it is not fused. You should trace the wiring that your dealer installed for your roof mounted panel.  If you add another panel to your controller, you should be sure to put a fuse on it.  Also, check to make sure the dealer put a fuse on your roof top panel.

Checking with the dealer on the fuse.  Will also try to eyeball myself, if it's visible.  Thanks.
