Our second visit to Acadia. This year we camped in the new https://www.recreation.gov/camping/schoodic-woods-campground/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=74299 - Schoodic Woods Campground . A magical place! I was remiss in getting shots of the actual campsite (B4), but trust me in saying there is not a bad site in the campground. We enjoyed the quiet and uncrowded neighborhood of the Schoodic Peninsula, the incredible local food and about an hour drive to the main (Bar Harbor) side to mingle with those folks who enjoy being within whisper distance of each other. We will return and here's a few shots to show you why...

Site was just like you photographed! Great campground...if you like peace and quiet. We do!

Camden Hills is on our radar. Please take photos! Next year, we're thinking doing a few nights at a bunch of different stops up to and around Cabot Trail. We did stop @ http://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/bear-brook-state-park.aspx - Bear Brook State Park  on the way up to Acadia this year. Off the beaten track a bit, but definitely a diamond in the rough!

Thanks Leo! Next time I gotta bring some fishing gear. Many more opportunities on Schoodic than there is on Mt. Desert Island. Got a feeling there are a few big stripers (or a good catch!) just off those rocks or off the bow of my kayak in the harbor!

Just came across this article which is a pretty good primer for anyone considering an Acadia trip:

A trip to The Schoodic Institute is a fascinating look at the history of of the Schoodic Peninsula side of Acadia.

Kind of embarrassing, I had to google to see where this park was located, having never been east, I kinda figured that must be where is was located.  Anyway, fantastic pics, the ones of the water along the shore remind me of traveling up the Keweenaw Peninsula in the U.P. of Michigan on the way to Copper Harbor.
