Thanks to all of you for inspiration for most of the Mods I have done to my 2017.5 Rpod 171. Could not figure out pictures - when I do I will post.
Rpod 171 Mods (2017.5 model – blue)
• Changed Dinette table stand to Springfield Marine 1660230-BLK 3-Stage Pedestal (amazon)- this is way cool and way too expensive but it has a wow factor when my grandkids saw it raise by itself to table level!!
• Added Kobalt 50-in L x 4-in H Black Plastic Storage Rail with clip on shelf to side of Rpod above wheel well with exterior grade double sided tape, screws to studs and sealed in clear silicon (Lowes)- love this for my toaster and Keurig coffee maker and condiments.
• Home built entertainment center with 1x2” clear pine painted with close match paint with 3 x Map Pocket - Lightweight Frame, Mesh Retainer (Amazon)
• Added to Bedroom wall -Misslo Over The Door Shoe Organizer 24 Large Mesh Pockets, White –(Amazon) – wood rail and hooks added to support organizer. We roll up all our clothes and place in organizer. This set up works great!
• Added Camco 42183 Screen Door Cross Bar (Black) to screen door (Amazon)
• Added R-Pod Trailer Visor by PahaQue (E-bay) replaced poles with Green Elephant twist lock poles (perfect fit) (Amazon)
• Added RV keyless lock with remote - RV lock v4 handle (Ebay) super easy install – may need to add foam to battery case – batteries come dislodged when door slammed – once added no issues.
• Purchased Flojet 18555-000A, Portable RV Waste Pump, 12 Volt DC, Macerator, Includes Carrying Case (amazon) – this works great- expensive also bought small battery (Pep Boys) and charger but works when you need to clean out black/gray tank at home.
• Added Camco 43781 Wall Mounted Clock (Amazon)– looks great – just prevent it from “clicking” or locking in (tape) – note it is not a silent clock.
• Added ANYThing Keeper - Office Desk Organize - Kitchen Storage & Cabinet Organizer (amazon) under the kitchen cupboard. This is a great storage idea for our collection of condiment packages! Added some short screws in addition to the double sided tape.
• Added AP Products 024-1001 Propane Tank Gas Level Indicator (Amazon) – I thought this was a dubious purchase – but it work great and it accurate!
• Added SuperSonic 1080p LED Widescreen HDTV with HDMI Input, AC/DC Compatible for RVs and Built-in DVD Player, 13.3-Inch to the Bedroom – grandkids can go and watch TV or play games when it rains or near bedtime (love this TV/DVD combo - highly recommended- only $118 ). I later added a surface conduit to connect it to the main powered TV antenna and cable connection with a splitter (CESS F-Type Connector Male to 2 Female Splitter Adapter- Amazon)
• Replace both lame baggage locks with Combi-Cam 7850R-L-Black Combination Cam Lock, 1-1/8" Black Finish (Amazon) – these work great – and eliminates the biggest frustration I had with my rpod since day one – I always felt I was going to break the keys off before.
• Added “piano hinges to seat storage – do not have to remove cushions to access storage. Added middle support to long passenger side storage (1/2” plywood) also added “shoe hole” in side by fire extinguisher with shallow upper shelf 4” ( accessible from top) to accommodate lanterns, batteries etc.
• Added Fulton HDSTC0101 Heavy Duty Spare Tire Carrier to front tongue to allow bike carrier on back
• With all this and 80lbs of fresh water I am at about 3100 lbs!
