Our R-POD 180 has been sitting idle for about 6 weeks and it has just started making rapid 4 beep patterns at about 3 second intervals. No appliances are on. It is not plugged in to electrical. When I disconnected the battery which still had a 1/3 charge, it stopped beeping. Does anyone know what this might indicate?

Your battery is low and the CO2 detector is beeping.

And.. letting your battery get that low is ruining it. Really. Disconnect when not in use if the Pod can't stay plugged in. Most owners add a quick disconnect switch. about $10.

Your detectors will vampire the life out of your batteries if you don't install a cutoff switch or don't physically disconnect the battery when your Pod is stored.

Even with a disconnect switch (which I think is a good idea, so don't get me wrong), you should consider trickle charging it if it's going to be idle for 6 or more weeks.

We give our R-pod batteries a booster charge about once a month when it's idle.

We keep ours connected to shore power for charging while it's stored in its storage unit. We're not really supposed to, but it's such a small drain and I do shut off the electric water heater.
