Admittedly I'm an early Boomer hence rather hippyish in my youth.  You've all heard of or seen the stereotypical hippy a condition once described by a shrink as, "arrested development.  It's the 60's teens and young adults sporting six button, bell bottom, jeans with tie-dyed T shirts many camping in their jalopies along the Big Sur California coastline and hanging out in Big Sur Valley.  The hippy-dippy days of drugs, sex, and rock n roll:  The drugs whatever was the soup du jour.  Sex, well, any port in the storm will do.  And rock n roll was classic Janis Joplin, Gracy Slick, Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother and the Holding Company...Cheap Thrills.  Back then "peace and love" were very nuanced and subject to interpretation.

But, "time marches on".  Today the drugs of choice are Arnold Palmer's and Lipitor.  Sex, well, only at one port in any and all storms.  And, the music some country and southern rock but mainly Bluegrass.  The jalopy gave way to a tent, then motels, hotels, B&B's and now to a "frog, an R-pod 177.

We just spent nine days a White Horse Lake in northern Arizona's high country.  One evening sitting alone at a dwindling campfire, Reta had given up on me and gone to bed, I sat there thinking how it was back then and how it is now..."what a long, strange, trip it's been".  Would I go back to "then" if I could...hell NO!  I like it just as it is now.

Charlie Rich got it right.  "can't take it with you when you're gone, but I want enough to get there on, and I ain't ever growing old...if I keep on rolling with the flow".

Here's a photo album we shot at White Horse while "rolling with the flow".
