Was wondering if anyone has changed out the bed in back to two twin beds and if so do you like the end result?  Pics would really be helpful.

The 179 never had twin beds to my knowledge.  The space from the front of the trailer to the wardrobe or dinett bench is not long enough for a twin to fit.  But if the people fit that direction I'm sure you could retro into two short twin beds with a nightstand between.  Good luck.
Thanks

Two twin beds won't fit. A twin mattress is 40" wide and the 179 is only 74" wide internally. One option is to take a short queen memory foam mattress and cut it in half lengthwise, putting each half in a cover. That will give you two 30"-wide beds with 14" for a path between them. This is what we plan to do in our 179. The right bed will also either have to be cut in length to around 60" or the wall moved, the latter of which will sacrifice storage space.

30 inch "twins" (fore and aft) would be a huge layout improvement. That would give a 14" walkway between. Problem is coming up with 72"-74" inches fore and aft on either side to work with.

I'm saving all my pocket change...

And then throw out those cushions and get some proper mattresses.

I realize the 179 doesn't come with twins, I don't want to have climb over to get out of bed. I can live with 30" wide, dont think I can live with 60" long.

Has anyone come up with a work around for the bed in the 179?

The Oliver trailers are really nice, we would be saving for a long time for one of those!

I did twin beds in my 180, was able to get the short side to 63" and my side to 78". they are 28" wide 30" would be better, and then I made a center section to fill the middle at night for sleeping with space to move. You would have to modify the wardrobe cab for your feet, and make an extension over the dinette side unless one of you is short. More details in the http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=9501&KW=twin+bed+mod&PID=89561&title=4th-180-modtwin-beds#89561 - twin bed post
