Just bought a 2018 R-pod like yesterday. ... noticed when learning to open and close the awning there is what appears to be an anchor port in the center where the supports store... whats that hole for?

You can remove the awning supports from the ends of the awning and they insert in those two keyholes in the center, although I have no idea why you would want to supports in the center instead of the ends.  It makes no sense at all.  Did you figure out how to lock the supports from collapsing when you have them installed on the side of the camper?

That one is easy, but not intuitive. flip the lever up and push it until you feel resistance. Push past the resistance and it will be locked. It will not be flat against the pole like it is in the storage position. There are some YouTube videos available that show this.

Yes, that is how to lock them, but my dealer couldn't figure it out.  They thought it was supposed to be free-floating.  I told them that wouldn't be any good even in a breeze.  I figured it out for them.  They were afraid to push on the plastic locking lever that hard.  It is a bit unnerving and feels like it's going to break.  I wish they'd used aluminum levers.  I'm pretty sure it won't be long before they start breaking off.

I doubt it that they will break. Thule has a very long experience building these parts and they are known for there excellent design and durability.

So far I haven't seen anyone else notice that it's setup to attach the supports in the middle, you and I are first I've seen that have questioned that.  It makes no sense at all but if anyone else has figured it out, please let us know.
