I am new to the owners forum and I'm sure I have a lot to learn. Constructive criticism is very much appreciated.

I just purchased a new electric jack. I didn't think about determining the diameter of the jack. After I received it, I realized that I hadn't determined the Pod tongue jack diameter. I haven't installed it yet and am having a little concern. Obviously I looked in many places, i.e. the brochure, the internet, Forrest river web, and the owner's forum.

(I do know that I can measure the diameter; however, for future reference it would be nice to have spec info available.)

Is there a location that would enable me to find detailed specs like this one?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Mfgrs do not post specs because it's too much trouble, errors may bring liability, and they change often. Always measure before you order anything. Even those that are posted such as weight, length and tank capacities are often wrong. Paraphrasing and old adage:"Measure twice, buy once."

That said, the Pod's jack mounting is a pretty standard three-bolt pattern. I installed an electric jack on our 179 and it took about 20 minutes, most of that being hitching up the TV to hold the tongue up while I swapped them out.

There are two common outer tube diameters: 2" and 2-1/4". Carefully measure the OD of your manual jack but I suspect it is 2-1/4". Also check to see if the mounting plate where the three bolts go through is triangular or round. Sometimes a round plate will not fit in place of an OEM triangular plate due to interference with other bolts. Don't skimp on the capacity of the new jack. 3500# is the minimum recommended. Remember the jack will have to lift part of your tow vehicle if you use a WDH.
