Is there a manual way to roll out the slide out on the 179 model?

No practical way to do so. Manual movement involves going into the mechanism, loosening the motors and moving them out of the way, and then manually moving the slide-out. I don't think it would be feasible for the owner to then re-engage the motors and have them work properly. There are YouTube videos about the process, but it is usually in conjunction with a failure in the mechanism.
