Henry,

Do you mean does it have an igniter? Mine doesn't.

They are all manual lighting.  Need to hold a match or use those long lighter sticks.

A few owners have modded to add spark ignition. But otherwise.. match, butane lighter etc.

We use one of those trigger activated grill lighters. It has a short piece of the Velcro tape on it and hangs on the wall near the stove top.

And they don't simmer worth a darn.  The controls are very sensitive so when you turn them down to simmer, it's a hair's breadth from going out.

We use a butane lighter with a long nose.......a lot.

Using a "flame tamer" can help quite a bit.

We have found over the 6 years we have owned ours that you cannot simmer with windows and door open otherwise, yes, it blows out.  Have gotten used to at least having the window by the stove shut if we are on simmer mode.
