I have a 2016 179 and am thinking about replacing my tv with a bigger one.  Has anyone done this and what size did you go to and how did you do it?

We replaced our TV with a 24-inch 12-volt DC unit with a DVD player built-in. It fit on the stock TV mount no problem. I only did it because I broke the cable connector off the stock TV accidentally. Then during a storm in Arkansas we had a surge that melted the converter and the TV due to the converter putting out 16 volts + and I didn't know it. Now we removed the TV completely and filled the holes and are just going to talk or play games or something, and we really won't camp where there's TV reception anyways.

Thanks for the reply.  Does it still swing shut?  Does it still open fully?

We put a 24" Samsung in our 179. It won't go flat against the wall without some modification to the mount, namely adding another articulation point to extend the length. I'll try to get a photo the next time I'm out at our 179.

We installed a 24" samsung on our 2017 176 and had to modify the baseplate that mounts to the tv by drilling additional holes to line up with the tv mounting holes.  Ours fits flat against the wall just like the original tv.  We installed a 110v and only watch when the weather pins us in and we run the gen to power it.  I would have considered a 12v setup but found a smoking deal at Costco for under $100 for a very nice tv.
