OK, so there has been a time or two when we needed a little more space than the pod afforded in chilly climes. It could be friends over. It could be movie night under the dome. It could be to keep the peace and survive the night. Regardless, I have found the dome to be an incredibly versatile annex to the pod and deploy it almost every time we camp. I have also found that with a skirt I made, a nice floor and the flaps all closed, it's a pretty darn cosy.
It doesn't take much to take the chill off. It's basically a 4-6 man tent when pretty sealed up. For a while I was using a Buddy 4000-9000 with either the one pounders ( I fill myself ) or a Worthington 1 gallon I've been carrying for years and would never be without - I generally carry it in the aft locker and use it for my grill or "propane emergencies" like forgetting to fill main tank. Today, I added a new heating option for those times the I just want to take the chill off in the dome or the rare chance I may have to spend the night out there. I added a Little Buddy to the mix. I made up a elbow so it can be attached to my 5 lb. tank or a standard 20 lb. tank. Should take the chill off and could be used safely inside the pod. Much quieter than the furnace. Gonna test it out next week. Sounds a bit chilly at the beach. ![]() P.S. The standard Mr. Heater elbow will not work without modification. |

Our 18 y/o son loves to sleep in the dome when we camp.
