After looking at several small trailers such as the Winnebago, T@b, Airstream, and R-Pod, we decided the R-Pod fit us the best.  We liked the construction, styling, and especially the large tank sizes and the Hood River Edition features.

We dipped our toes into the R-Pod world by picking up a used 172 and using it last fall.  When we looked at the new 2017.5 (gray/blue/yellow) 177, we were "forced" to have one.  Our 172 went to a couple with two small kids who loved the bunks.  And we got a new 177.  The slide-out gives so much more room.

We tow with either a Tundra or Highlander and use a Anderson No-Sway Weight Distribution Hitch.

And I've posted some mods I've done this spring on the forum:  battery box, solar controller, battery monitor, and more storage space under the dinette seat.  I also added a Blue Sea USB/12V socket under the bed for phones, etc.  It's wired into the 12VDC running to the furnace.

And the mod I'm currently working on is installation of propane hose and fittings for a Wave 3 heater.

I'm glad this forum is here and I will no doubt learn a lot!

Enjoy your 177!  We have since we picked ours up in March 2011.  Great trailer.  Been North, South, East, and West over the past 6 years to the tune of 25,000+ miles.  No regrets and no issues with it.  We may add an A/C to it in a couple years when I retire and if we decide to go south during the summer months.  Up to now there have been only 2 occasions where we could have used A/C but since we boondock a lot, it wasn't an option anyway.
