Also keep in mind a full load of water is ~300 lbs. While you can usually get water at the campground, you often can't dump, so have to factor the dirty water in.

Low CCC is main complaint on the 172.

MY 172 can carry 900 pounds of cargo per FR floorplan specs. I'm pretty sure its labeled to carry almost 1100 pounds.  It is getting checked out now, but will be back next friday and i can confirm that.

My 2015 178 has a sticker on it, left side, front. The empty weight is 2648, the GVW is 3757, the capacity is 1092 and it has a warning to account for the fresh water tank. The new dealer brochure says the capacity of a 178 is 1165. That may be due to 15" tires and an axle change, I have a 3500 Dexter.
