Anybody had any luck inquiring or ordering wall panel material from FR for rPod? I'm interested in ordering either plywood (luan) panels w/factory laminated "wallpaper" in any dimension or "wallpaper" material by itself and seam tape in both 1" and 6".

I have written a couple of times to surveyorparts@forestriverinc.com a couple of times with no response. Perhaps there is a generic brand folks a familiar with?

Thanks!

fred

For anybody that might be interested...

I did hear back from FR:

30i62820a - $61.40 - 2.7mm(1/8") X 48" X 96" DECOR PANELING - "GLO WHEAT LINEN"

There would also be a $40 crating fee for this panel if you decide to order.

While doing some research I came across this great image!! Wow! Who knew rPods had such genealogy!!

Out of curiosity, what is your plan with the panel?

Hey furpod,

Well, in all honesty, I can only blame this on myself. For not thoroughly inspecting a long time ago...

I recently emptied all the lockers while repacking for a trip. While doing so, I came across some pretty significant wall damage "hidden" in the forward right corner of the storage space and below the dinette . No sign of moisture. No mold. No sign of damage above the dinette. I assume this is probably  old damage that has been there a while. Further inspection revealed where I think it may have come from.

I noticed a very small gap in caulking on the outside bottom corner and also noticed potential intrusion underneath the right front corner. We have, in the past, driven through some torrential rain storms. My current theory is water entered and wicked along the insulation and panel. There is no softness in the side wall or the floor. Once I cut it out, I may have a better idea where the intrusion came from. I'll be honest, it could have been there since day one as I didn't inspect as closely as I should have.

When I did empty the storage lockers, it was shortly after some torrential rains here and there was no sign of moisture in the locker, on the floor or on anything that was in the locker. That leads me to believe this is old damage that has since dried completely.

I have since inspected and tapped all the walls and found no signs of problems. I've also cleaned and re-caulked with ProFlexRV.

I'm not too concerned about removing and replacing the panel. It looks pretty straight forward and will be a good fall project. A patch would probably work, but my gut feeling is pulling and replacing the entire panel would be easier and give opportunity to thoroughly inspect for potential other intrusions.

Lesson learned. Probably a good idea to empty storage lockers and thoroughly inspect after every trip! Especially after driving through driving rain!
