Can't I just turn pump off and run on city water pressure??
And another ?:  If I turn on my electric water heater will the propane heater shut off?  Or is the switch inside ONLY for the propane water heater?? And I should shut the switch off inside to shut the propane water heater off.

You can turn off the pump when hooked up to external water. You don't need it. You can leave both electric and propane sides of the WH on. It will speed recovery if you use a lot of HW. The inside rocker switch controls only the propane WH. You can turn it off when hooked up to shore power. If you leave it on while connected to shore power the electric side will have priority and maintain HW until it can't keep up (long showers). Only then will the propane burner light if it's turned on.

No need to run the pump when on city water.
I have read on here somewhere that the electric side of the water heater is set to come on a little lower than the gas side so when you are on someone else s electric the water will heat off of that first and conserve your LP.
The switch inside the Pod is only for the gas side.
(We bought our Pod used, took us almost a year to find out it worked on electric too....................) Big smile
You can leave the gas heater on if you are in a big hurry to heat hot water, other wise if you are patient you can burn someone elses power.

Life would be a lot tougher with out this Pod Forum.  Smile

I should read more carefully to see if there is a second page. Would have saved some typing

Great info everyone, very helpful. I just picked up my first RV ever a few days ago - 2015 182G.  Dealer gave me a lengthy walk through on everything from the hitch setup to electronics... Needless to say it was too much to take in.  Should've recorded it in hindsight.  Anyways, was definitely struggling to remember the water heater controls, and this thread was a great reminder.
