Make sure it is white and approved for drinking water. I've also read they are fragile.

Its rare that I get a site with a water hookup (Provincial parks don't have 'em), so I usually fill up at the sanitary station, or stop at a campground spigot and use a water thief, short length of hose and a tank filler.
But, for those times when water is handy on-site, or very unhandy offsite (e.g. in late fall after the campground spigots have been shutoff to prevent freezing and the only available water is in the bathhouse) I have a 50' collapsible hose that is very handy and coils very small for storage.
