Calendar Event: Water lines Posted: 30 Sep 2015 at 5:36pm |
A word of caution! We were sitting at the dining room table at around 9:00 PM when we heard a loud boom and then a swishing sound. Running outside thinking that our outside water line had ruptured, I saw a wall of water running out of the bottom of the R-Pod! Shutting down the water and letting out a few choice curse words, I went back inside to see what was going on. After ripping up the cushions and lifting the plywood, I could see a loose hose, just dangling in the air! The crimp clamp that held it in place had failed and let the incoming water just hose the entire mechanical compartment. Needless to say, I replaced it and a ll of the other similar clamps with automotive screw type clamps. I am just very thankful that we were there to catch in time (no damage so far) rather having it occur during the day while we were away! We now make it mandatory to shut the water off before we leave the campsite!

Sorry it happened but thanks for letting everybody know. I guess those crimp rings can loosen due to all of the jiggling that goes on during travel.
I'm going to come up with some sort of reminder to myself to turn off the water before leaving the campsite!!
Thanks again!! |

Were you, by any chance, hooked up to city water without a pressure regulator?
Just asking. fred
