Is a 2015 r-pod warranty for 1 year?

If sold to a 2nd owner during the warranty period, does the warranty expire or get transferred  to the 2nd  owner?

If you make mods like moving the TV or cutting holes in paneling to create additional storage does that void your warranty?

Is there a forest river web page with details about the warranty?

Jay:
All I know is I bought a 1 month old/used R179 last May from a dealer and the warranty would not transfer with FR.  I grumbled and the dealer gave me a 30 day warranty with them as a concession.

I contacted Forest River directly to answer these questions. The short answer is that an r-pod comes with a one year warranty when purchased from an FR authorized dealer, but this warranty is not transferable to another owner regardless of the time left in that first year. If an issue can be attributed to an owner modification then the issue it is not covered by warranty.

This information is also contained in the "Owners Manual" -the generic document titled "FR Travel Trailer Owner's Manual" document. This info also states that the travel trailers appliances, water, sewer, electrical, heating and cooling systems as well as some features of the chassis/trailer are not under warranty through Forest River but through those various manufacturers. It states it is the job of the purchaser to make sure their dealer supplies all the appropriate literature with that warranty information. It further sates those supplier manufacturer warranties a generally not transferable to a 2nd owner.

Here is the email I sent and the response from Forest River:

Hello Jessica Wiggin:

I bought a 2015 r-pod 179 in March of this year. I can not locate any warranty information with my purchase paperwork.

Would you please answer these basic questions:

-How long is my r-pod under warranty? Your warranty expires 4/2/16

-If I sell the r-pod during that period does the warranty expire or transfer to the new owner? No, warranty is only good for original owner

-Does making modifications like moving the TV or cutting openings in the paneling to create additional storage spaces void all or some of the warranty? Any damage caused from modification will be voided under warranty

Is there a Forest River web page that has the details of the warranty for my r-pod? All warranty information is located in your owner’s manual.

Thank You So Much for Your time,

Jay
