Thanks very much for this post and your resolution to this safety concern.
I experienced an arc flash event with my Molex connectors as well, and I've filed a complaint with NTHSA to report it.
I researched the Molex connectors used in the construction of my trailer, and the manufacturer technical specs for this connector explicitly state it is not water resistant and is designed for VERTICAL installation.
FR installs the connector in a location known to be at risk of water intrusion and in a horizontal orientation directly under plumbing... No bueno.


Impossibility is merely a degree of difficulty

Thank you for this discussion.  I was headed out to the barn this afternoon to do a little cosmetic work on our 177.  I will now unbutton the under-sink panels and check this out instead.
