Hi, I want to thank all the folks here for all the info I gleaned here over the past few months. My wife and I just purchased a 2014 RP-177 from one of the forum members. We are very excited to get out with it. We have had campers for years  ranging from a Hi-Lo to Pop Ups to our most recent, a thirty foot TT. With one kid headed off to college and our tow vehicle on the marginal side (2014 JKU), the R-Pod was the only game in town for something hard sided and self-contained. Thanks again for helping me make an informed decision.

Welcome from another Coloradan with a 177!  Whereabouts in CO are you located?

We're in Highlands Ranch. Would much rather be up in your neck of the woods.

At least you don't have too far to drive to get here--just a bunch of I-70 traffic to deal with.

Is your 177 a Hood River Edition?  We bought ours new from a dealer in Omaha, so it's a standard, i.e., non-Hood River Pod.  But it has the axle risers, so the clearance is nearly the same.  Definitely need that extra clearance if you're going to take your Pod on Forest Service roads!

I think for a lot of weekend get aways we'll probably go 285. I have family in Grand Junction, and getting trapped in Sunday EB traffic can be insane. We have had GJ to HR last 8 hours. Crazy!

Not an HRE, but it does have the lifts. It came from out East. I have a dream of matching wheels to the Jeep, but the only R-Pod I saw going that big (bigger actually) had a whole new axle and leaf springs. I think the bolt pattern matches that of some smaller Jeep wheels (Liberty), so maybe something along those lines will work. Don't know how all that works with the brakes though.

For now, I'll just be careful as FS roads are definitely much of the plan. One reason we got rid of the big camper was because it required so much planning regarding sites. Want to be able to just go up in the National Forest and get away from it all without a lot of brain damage or company.
