Where exactly are you fishing and what are you using for bait?  I go through the motions on the Banks but have never caught more than a 12" sand shark and a little puffer.  Plan on being there late next month.

I surf fish on the beach right behind the Cape Hatteras KOA. Straight off the boardwalk. I use one rod baited with a medium size hook and a piece of shrimp and a second rod with a mullet rig on it baited with a finger mullet.
I will usually cast the mullet rig out 20-25 yds and let it sit. The other rod with the shrimp, i will cast a short distance, usually right over the first set of waves, literally 10-12 feet off shore.
That's where most of the fish feed is in the crashing waves.
Good luck and happy fishing!! just yell if I can provide any more info. I usually get all my bait and tackle at either Hatteras Jack's bait shop or the Fishin Hole bait shop one is a short distance north of the KOA and one is a short distance south.

On the Passumpsic River? That's a real pretty area up there. Have spent a little time around Holderness and North Conway. Bass fishing on Squam was great.

Caught in up on Echo Lake up in West Charleston. Have done quite a bit of fishing in the passumpsic river, they have huge Brown trout in there.
How did you like Miami? We towed our 171 through there the year I retired on the way back from Key West.

South (east) Florida is a nice place to visit, but don't care to live there anymore. After 25 years living there, couldn't wait to get away from the crowds in the winter and the heat in the summer. This past trip was just to help move friends from Miami. Love the boating and fishing down that way and really miss the seafood. Just too crowded. Did have a nice view last week.

Nice picture!! I miss the ocean a lot, grew up down on Cape Cod. I agree definitely don't miss the crowds.
Nice and rural up here. Fished for 2 hours today only person I saw was a fanned out turkey strutting in a field near echo lake.
