I spent quite a bit of time trying to chase down the best price for a 178 and even checked classifieds for used. The best prices I found were in Kentucky and Michigan but wasn't going to drive there from California to pick it up and shipping was too expensive. I contacted Porter's RV in Oregon as we were planning a trip up the coast anyway and got a great deal over the phone. I secured a 178 with a deposit and we picked up our pod 3 weeks later on Valentine's Day. The pod was immaculate and a second battery was already installed in series at my request. They made sure to have the hitch I wanted in stock and installed it while I signed on the dotted line.
Everyone is very courteous and friendly at Porter's. It's a family business focused on customer satisfaction. I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to Darin and Eric Porter! I highly recommend this dealer.
We camped that night at Bullard's SP and the next morning a nice gentleman stopped by to share our enthusiasm. He had just purchased an rpod from Porter's the previous week and had also driven a distance to do so and mentioned he had purchased his pod significantly less than msrp. If you're in Oregon or willing to drive to Coos Bay, I can not recommend Porter's enough.

We bought our 179 from Evan at Porter's and I agree 100% with this post--Porter's is a great dealership and they really care about customer satisfaction and service.

We bought our 2015 179 from Porters this spring and had a fantastic experience as well! Darin and Josh were excellent! Got the best deal BY FAR! Because of our excellent experience, my sister and her husband drove up a week later and bought a 178, and my co-worker ordered their new 179 the same week! They are worth the trip from far away to deal with!

ausdland, I also have a 2002 Tundra and will be picking up an r.pod 179 in a few weeks. What drop on the hitch did your Tundra require?
