Anyone know if the Dometic AC units have a compressor delay?

I just ordered a Progress Industries EMS-HW30C and it has a delay setting which needs to be set depending if your AC compressor has a built in delay or not.

It does have a delay. I have the 2014 178 as well, plus I installed the same EMS-HW30C that you're getting. I've set it to the 15-second delay instead of the 136-second delay.

Just to be on the safe side, so you can't come yelling at me, you need to test your A/C unit, just to be sure it's the same as mine.

1. Start up the A/C and make sure it's running and pumping cool A/C air.
2. Pull the power to the whole trailer.
3. Wait a couple of seconds and plug the trailer back in. (You're simulating a power failure/surge/brownout)
4. Run inside the trailer and count seconds (or look at your watch/phone/time-telling-device-of-choice) until the compressor kicks back on and blows cold air. (Don't confuse the compressor with the fan. The fan will start up and blow almost immediately. It may help to put your hand on the A/C unit until you feel another motor kick-in and you hear the fan slow-down for a second because of the big power-draw of the compressor)
5. If the compressor kicked on almost immediately then you DO NOT have a proper delay and will need to set your HW30C to the 136-second delay. If the compressor takes about 1:30- to 2-minutes to start back up, then you have the proper delay and can set the HW30C to 15-seconds.

Hope this helps.
