   The r-pod has a female Bargman 7 pin connector that powers the brake lights and brakes via the brake controller that is installed in your vehicle.

The center terminal is labeled as an auxiliary circuit, most commonly used for backup lights not a ground terminal as many try to make it. It is recommended that you attach the trailer harness ground directly to the frame or a solidly attached sheet metal, using a metal screw or bolt. The most common cause of trailer lighting issues is a poor ground on the tow vehicle and/or trailer.
