Robert Lunsford, Donna and I just got back from Key West 1 week ago, and I think I could do a couple of months down there in the pod. I think Donna went on line and said to stay at camp grounds on Key West it was $165.00 a night. I guess I will have to stay in Indiana.

Oh, Man, not Indiana again this winter!!!  I'm in Muncie, and heading south, somewhere!

Ditto on the Key West sites, never been there, but looking online they are pricey.  Finding some places farther north in the $600-700 range per week that look pretty nice.  Can you drive to Jamaica?

I'm new at this, planning to winterize in a few weeks, then head below the frost line mid Dec, and keep going south.  Any suggestions on campgrounds in the Keys are greatly appreciated.

Robert , you will need floats to get to Jamaica. I have been there and there is a lot of water between south florida and Jamaica. I hate to winterize the pod, but I know its coming. Maybe in a couple of years Donna and I can head south in the Pod and stay longer than 2 or 3 days.

I hear ya!  Their's a few State Parks that you can get into, say, 2016.  I actually did find some single night spots at Bahia Beach, and of course, if you go north, up by Fort Myers, it's gets' a lot cheaper.

It'a all relative, too.  I can spend  $600 a week in Marathon with full hookups in my Pod, or $2000 for a hotel room in Key West.  I've actually never been there, but priced it a number of times.  I always went to Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, or some all inclusive instead, as it was always cheaper than a week in Key West.  I've just been to Fort Myers too many times with 50 degree days, so want to get as far south as possible.

Collier Seminole State Park is not a bad park in Naples and there is John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo and one within Everglades National Park. That is the furthest south I can think of without a boat.Off the coast of Key West a few miles there is Dry Tortugas, a National Park that one you would need a boat.

Robert Lunsford, Donna and I stay at the Casa Marina, its the only 5 star rated hotel in Key West. its around 220 a night and we do a three nighter. air fare and hotels are generally around 1600. plus blow money and eating out. Crap, I could buy a lot of camp sites for that kind of money. Gotta rethink this vacation/short trips.

I decided to do the winterization myself, with air compressor, anyone know where or even if there is a water heater bypass on a 2014 178?  Thanks!

Forrest River, if you're reading these, your manual is for RV's, not R Pods, and is pretty frustrating, as several others have commented.  It's completely generic to r/v's, not R Pods.

Look right behind the water heater for the bypass valves.
