Bought a new 178 in August, better negotiated price in person than trying with anyone else via the web. I declined the extended warranty but a week later when picking the trailer up they had the warranty up charge on the paper work. NO! Not sure if this was an honest mistake or a slick trick.

Dealer prep was unsatisfactory. I had no hot water on my first time out with the trailer. No water from the pump. Rather than deal with the drive, time, hassle of going back to the dealer I found the problem myself, thanks to postings on this site.  The valves located at the hot water heater, pump area were incorrectly set to the winterize position. Obviously the dealer did not test either the water or the heater. About the only useful thing I was shown was how to operate the AC thermostat and heater.

No mention of the critical safety item, that is checking wheel lug nuts with a torque wrench as indicated by the yellow sticker over the wheel well. Others have discovered missing this detail has resulted in losing a wheel.

Make the dealer test everything while you are there. This is a small dealer not in business that long, perhaps a year.

I had the same feelings with Bobby Coombs. loose wheel, hose on sink not hooked up, when I turned it on, water was everywhere. Walk threw? BIG joke and when I talked to Bobby about everything that was wrong, after paying cash, he wouldn't get the guy that was to have done the walk threw, all a big game. The ref. beeped and I was told it would go away. Found the battery cable loose and after I tighten them it stopped beeping? Way I have no idea. Plastic is still blocking the spouts in the kitchen and bathroom, going better now I've cleaned them 3 times, and run 30 gal. of water threw them. The water ck valve for the black water clean out was backwards and you could not clean the tank, I fixed that with the help from the face book web site. It was backwards. Propane tank wasn't put in the stand the right way. Oh we could go on and on, NEVER AGAIN BOBBY COOMBS.

I purchased a new 179 from Bobby Combs mid-September of this year and I haven't had any issues or problems.  However, it sounds as if I purchased my r-pod after ReiMan and Mike purchased theirs, so maybe the dealer learned a few things.  Or I got lucky.

While on the road this summer, I emailed this dealer with some RPOD questions.  Both Bobby, the owner, and Bob, the service manager, answered my questions quickly and fully.  Very helpful.  I just took my RPOD to them a few days before the warranty expired, and they're fixing all the warranty items, and a few other things I requested.  So far very pleased with this dealer.

I could have paid less had I drove 400 miles one-way to another dealership, but I felt it better to support the local businesses (and skip the drive).  Glad I did!

Our dealership is probably 35 miles away. Makes it pretty handy to run over. Plus the service manager from that dealership lives just down the road.
