Howdy all!  We're in Central TX and are seriously in the hunt for our first RPod .. 178 or 179.  (And first TT, too, for that matter.). TV will be our small-V8 Tundra.

My compliments to the originator(s) of this forum, and to all who contribute to it.  I've already picked up a wealth of info.  And come up with some questions:

1)  Can we expect decent service, if needed, from dealers other than who we make the original purchase from?  We don't have an RPod dealer in our backyard, but should we buy from the closest one just to be sure warranty issues will be addressed adequately?

2)  How can I tell where a given unit was manufactured?

3)  How can I tell who manufactured the axle?  Dexter?  Lippert?  Other?  I've seen some stories about axles losing their bow and/or being rated right at or near the weight of a loaded trailer.  Kinda concerns me.  Have read where some folks have swapped out the factory axle in favor of a heavier one.

In closing, thanks again to all of you, and we're sure excited at the prospect of joining you!  The RPod seems like a wonderful little contraption and about as simple a way to hit the road - comfortably - as we could hope for.

Welcome to the group!! I have always gotten our service done at the dealership that we bought both our pods at. Though we did have work done once done in the outer banks and the local rv repair guy handled it with ease.
We put over 13,000 miles on our 171 and never had axle problems. Just starting out with our 179 heading to NC next month with it.
