So I'm assembling my list of winterization items to buy. I want to know if any of you put any product on the little rubber roof on top of the slide to prolong its life. Forest river manual was mute on anything related to that.
I've got the Thetford rubber slide seal spray on my list. I was going to ask Thetford if they would recommend for or against using it in that manner.

I would say that since the slide will be retracted while being stored through the winter any use of some protection product on its roof would be mute.

I don't know about the product that is marketed for the slide seals, but I have used a little silicone spray.Be aware though, because to much lubricant on the slide seals will hamper the seals ability to "Fold" back on it's own.

It needs a little friction to do so,otherwise you will have to use your hands to start the fold back process.

I still have some rubber roof protectant that I used on the roof and the tops of the slides on the motor home I owned a few years ago.  Protectant will prolong the roof of the slide and it will make it much easier to clean as it begins to age.

I also recommend using silicone spray on the slide seals.  Every slide I have had, including the one on my 2014 178, seals on the principle of compression, not friction, and I used the spray liberally every time I gave the RV a bath.
