I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked and answered, but I couldn't find it.  Here goes:  We are purchasing a new 177 from an out-of-state dealer.  We plan to pick it up in a little over a week.  I'd like to make sure I have everything ready so I can turn around and head back the 10+ hours home ASAP, so I want to have the correct ball mount before I head out.

The 177 we are purchasing is not a Hood River Edition, but it does have the axle riser.  I googled to find out the hitch height, and found (from a different forum) the answer of 18 1/2".  But I also called the salesman, who went out and measured it.  He said it was 16".  My hunch is that the 18 1/2" measurement was to the top of the hitch, and 16" is the bottom of the hitch.  If it's 16", I already have the correct size.  If it's 18 1/2", I need to buy a new one.

What is the exact height (to the bottom of the hitch) for a non HRE model with the factory axle riser?  Thanks!

Is it the same height for all pods with risers?  Our 181g is on order and I want to be ready!

So 16" to the bottom of the hitch?  I'm using etrailer.com's measuring guide, and they use the bottom of the hitch as a reference point.

This is a very interesting question.  I saw a video of a 171 and it was saying 18" to the bottom of the ball.  But now I am wondering if their trailer was with or without the risers.  Ours is coming with the risers.  Will follow this topic to see if anyone else has an idea.

I just put the risers on my 171 and I measured 18.5 inches from the ground to the top of the hitch.

Thanks, that is good to know. We are good to go then. We were supposed to have delivery today.  But that is pushed back to tomorrow morning. We were disappointed but will be much happier tomorrow when we can get our pod.
