I was wondering when/ what year the first r-pod was made?  Iv noticed that some retro looking trailers had been discontinued. I love the style of an r-pod and wonder why they have stuck around for so long :)

Welcome. 2009 was the first year, but not sure what month that they were out. The 151 model has been retired, it was the shortest of all of the POD's.

Yep, 2009 was the first model year. And yes other retro styled campers have come and gone, some because they didn't get traction in the market, some because they just were not good campers, and at least one, because they got sued for direct copies (down to model numbers) of the R-pod, except for color.

The R-pod lands in a sweet spot in the market, popular both with new TT owners, and older downsizing owners, and the retro is cool crowd. It's decently well built and appointed for the $$. It also has a very active owners community, which, in today's instant information age, is very appealing to many new owners. A question can get asked on the FB group and is often answered in seconds, if not a couple minutes. 2 forums.. several rally's every year..
