We found a pizza pan that fits perfectly, and cook everything on it, but your answer is pure genius.

Glass for when using microwave only ... metal on glass for when using the convection oven or the combination micro/convection settings.

Metal in a microwave in and of itself is not bad.. after all the microwave is made of.. metal. It has to do with amount of metal and it's edges/reflective angles. Like I said, ours is designed that the metal platter is in there always, but FR uses a couple different microwaves, so it depends on which you have. BTW, no matter which you have, if you pop microwave popcorn, put it on a microwave safe plate that is inverted, holding the bag at least 1/2 inch above the platter. You will have MUCH better results that way.

Looks like there's a glass try in there also. Thanks for the advice. I thought it kinda risky that they would put a metal try in a microwave unless it had some special properties.

You'll use that little tray disk on convection mode. Helps things cook properly.

I got a Sunbeam Microwave oven with my R178. There's a round metal disk that comes with it. I think it's used for baking but I'm not certain. Has anyone used it? Is it safe to use on microwave mode?
