Topic: additional battery box for tools Posted: 03 Nov 2013 at 9:17am |
It makes me comfortable to bring a few basic tools along while camping. Tools tend to be heavy and sometimes dirty or sharp. Therefore they don't mix well with other stuff. I purchased a second battery box (same size as the original one). See accompanying image. The top has alignment tabs. Once the top is in place, I use the blue strap (shown dangling) to hold everything in place.

The only down side is that there isn't much security for your tools with a battery box. On the other side if it looks like a battery box it may not be messed with. Good use of space.

I have an extra box, and looking at this makes me think it may be the perfect place for the Lynx Levelers.

I have a set of inexpensive tools, wrenches, sockets, ratchets, pliars I keep rolled up in shop towels I keep in a plastic tub with a snap on lid In the rear pass through storage. I also keep a combo tool kit under the rear dinette seat storage area that has basic screw drivers/torx drivers, Phillips just in case. In the plastic tub in the back I have a folding saw, rope I can use for clothes line. fire starters, a folding plastic 5 gallon water can, hatchet, and the MOST IMPORTANT. roll of duct tape. Happy Campin

I also carry a roll of electrician's tape, wire cutters and a short length of baling wire. It goes without saying that you should include a lug wrench and a scissors jack, if your TV jack is not compatible with your pod.
