I've seen small spindles used to make decorative shelving in Pods. Where do I purchase them and what's the best way to use them / attach them? One item I'll be doing is putting a small rail on top of Refrig to hold spices.  Any tips / suggestions would be appreciated. I'm an ex-construction carpenter so I'm not too much into small decorative stuff.

The spindles not individual.  They come as a decorative rail, sold by the foot, and available at most home improvement stores.  The lower member of the rail is attached to the shelving by using common fasteners.

Are you talking about "Galley Rail"? if so, any home improvement store will have it in the mouldings/millwork section...
