Topic: New RPod 177 owner :) Posted: 28 May 2013 at 5:28pm |
Hi all!
We're new to the RPod world and, of course, the Forum. What a great place to learn about Our Pod! We have been able to take our Cabin on Wheels out three times so far this Spring and have learned so much. I'm looking forward to learning more and getting to know other RPod owners. :)

Congrats and welcome! There is a wealth of knowledge here from a lot of very experienced Podders ... I can't even imagine trying to figure this stuff out on my own without their help!

Thank you! We have a lot of fun so far! Even more fun, and unexpected when we bought it, is all the people who stop and comment on how cool the RPod looks. It is really unlike anything else out there. I notice that most RPodders (Is a day on the Forum long enough to use that slang?) that post have their tow vehicle in their signature. I have found that helpful, is it preferred or just fun to know?

Thank you for your Welcoming messages. We are planning a trip out to Yellowstone later this summer and I'll be on here researching questions that come up while we take our closer-to-home trips now.

Somehow I missed another Wisconsinite in a Pod. Welcome to podding. We need someone who can organize things to get a Wisconsin Pod weekend set up. We do seem to have a few from the dairy state here on line.

It is fun to know, but also helpful to me to see what others are towing with as I start the process of looking for a new TV for next year. When I narrow it down to a couple choices I can then ping those here that have the same make/model to see how they like it and how it works for them.
And yes, a day on the forum is plenty of time to starting using the slang.

Welcome, fellow 177'er! We are into our second year of enjoying the Florida State Park system. The R-177 is a perfect fit for us and our canine companions.
Ironically, as you "northerners" are finally emerging from your winter shutdown, we are experiencing an early and particularly hot-nasty pre-summer during what should be our most pleasant time of year, (as short as Spring is in the South.)
(The saying in Florida is that there are really only three seasons- this Summer, this Winter, and next Summer.)
As comfortable as our R-Pod is, with the air conditioning cranking, we will most likely await the day when the inside temp of the R-dome is less than 102 deg. at mid-afternoon.
But then again, November through March is wonderful!
Have a great camping season, and be safe!
