Sorry guys as a first timer I feel as if I am hogging the posts.... but I know that I read on a post where someone used water ballasts of some sort to tie down the skirt of the r-dome.  I would love to know what they actually used... more to prevent escapes from the two furry kids we have..  Thanks in advance.

I didn't see that particular post, but I bet they were using the same items we used up north to secure the edges of a swimming pool cover once we closed the pool up for winter.  Try this

Jennifer and Baxter, the Campin' Cocker Spaniels

We do a full staking of the dome, and, we keep our dogs on a tie out, even in the dome. Never a problem. And our rescue is a runner.

We stake out 75' of fence around our Pod!  LOL

But what Furpod does works really well.  Their dome is nearly airtight!
