The MoosePod has gone through a lot of spring mods and additions getting her ready for our camping season.  Had posted these all on the facebook page but had been kinda lazy about getting these on the forums.

So a quick list of the mods and the pics to start I won't flood everyone with all the details unless anyone is curious about something.

  1. Outdoor speakers
  2. Flipjack
  3. Stove removal/new countertop
  4. Older Mod (bathroom sink removal) but some hadn't seen it so I'll share.

What size flipjack do you buy for your Pod? That is a very handy addition!

We bought the 6" one instead of the 4, but either would be fine I think.

As far as tube size that you'd have to determine by measuring your jack tube, I wouldn't be certain that Forest River hasn't changed jacks and possibly used different tube sizes across all the different models and years of Pods.

Really love the jack though.  It's a nifty little addition.

I will be adding the Flip Jack mod as my first project...Watched the how-to and it is super easy.  Have you done the to LED light Mod? That seems like a good Mod but just not sure which LED lights to get to replace the bulbs the Pod comes with.

SteveC,

Take a look at these LEDs. I spent a lot of time researching these and replaced all my interior bulbs with these. I really like them.

A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. They are bright and warm white, not bluish. I tried some cheap Chinese flat 24 and 36 LED units but they were junque. Bad color, low light, and hot.  Fortunately they were cheap too. In the trash.

I also replaced the outside porch light with an amber unit from the same supplier. Not quite as bright as the OEM 1156, but very adequate and a whole lot cooler and less power.

Ok .... What's a Flip Jack?

Never mind ... I just found the video.

Question ... If Pod rolls forward, will Flip Jack collapse? Or is it somehow locked in?

I got these LEDs on recommendation ... They give great light with good warm color ... They have an air gap in fixture for cooling .... All the LEDs point OUT of the fixture ... Great price for 10x quantity ..... Uses the larger 5050 LEDs .. 12x LEDs on each socket is VERY adequate.

See data sheet on link ... China originated but, hey, great price. I had bad experience with flat, 2 sided tape version using smaller 36x 1210 LEDs per socket. No air gap, too hot... meltdown!

Worth a try before spending lots of $$$$$.

The flipjack is in a locked state until you raise it again.  Once weight is removed from it it swings and pulls free.
