Their service department is batting .500 with me right now. I do like the sales staff.

Just had my clearance light  recall work done here, nice job with only 3 fasteners on each end of the spoiler, in at 9:00, out by lunch.

My previous service experience with them was a complete train wreck. They absolutely suck at returning phone calls, so just because they don't call you doesn't mean your work isn't done. It could very well be parked out back waiting for you to come and pick it up. Hard to understand since they don't get paid until you come and pay them.

So it's a crap shoot, but better than going to Lansing.

When you sat better than Lansing, are you referring to Gillete? I ask because we are looking for an r pod and have spoken to Gillette. Their prices are way high, but we havent tried negotiating yet. Wondering if you would say to stay away?

I am referring to Gillette's Interstate RV in Lansing, MI. I have no experience with their sales staff, but my experience with their service department is inexcusable.  A condensed version here:

After failing to get a single return phone call from them for almost 3 months, they offered to take down my information and get back with me. Seriously. The straw that broke the camel's back was when they told me, "Try to find someone else to do the job." So that's what I did. I don't believe I've ever been treated so rudely or with such lack of interest by any service provider, ever.

They must have some great sales staff, but woe be unto you if you need service. Run away as fast as you can. Drive out of state. Find another dealer.

Wow, enough said. Thank you for posting! Service is much more important than the sales person. Hard negotiations always go to the manager anyways.

Welcome wingnut, wish I had seen this thread earlier.  Back in March of 2011 we purchased our 177 from Hilltop RV in Escanaba, a 4 hour trip but with the price they offered on a new 177, we couldn't afford to go anywhere else, even considering the price of gas.  Their sales staff and service dept. are top notch BUT if you live in the lower part of the state then you may have to reconsider your options.
