Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Thank you for allowing me into the forum. My name is Ed, I grew up camping with family and friends, but finally I've been able to stretch out and pick up my own 2025 198. It's honestly the best possible layout for me, my wife, and our baby coming in September. We plan to use it for motocross racing and mountain bike racing, and of course camping. A vast majority of our camping will be dry camping as motocross tracks seldomly have full hookups, but after using it four times including a work trip to the Buffalo, NY area everything has been really great. Our only quirk right now is figuring out how to optimize the storage compartments provided. I'm a bit OCD and really like negative open space, so this will be a HUGE challenge and I'd gladly accept any ideas some of you have or have done.
Thanks! Ed ![]() |

Congratulations on your 198. Man, that is H U G E !!! I am comparing it to my 177 which I have owned since January 2011. With regular maintenance it should last a long time. Sounds like you are already making some fantastic memories with it, Bravo! We usually dry camp as well and utilize our batteries to the max, no solar or generator usage either. Our batteries include: 14 yr. old Interstate deep cycle and a 5 year old Trojan T-1275. We can go for 6 days at a time when night temps are in the 40's - furnace is the biggest consumer of the batteries amp hours. As far as storage, after a few trips you will find out what is necessary to bring and what you can leave home. Clothes wise, we take a few changes and call it good, when dirty we either wash out by hand or if near civilization, find a laundromat. We use our FW tank for drinking also, so no plastic waste in the landfills. Welcome to your 24/7 owners manual. We have used it many times over the years, a lot of individuals on this site who have a lot of experience and expertise.
