Hey there, I have been having problems with my inline fuse for the power tongue jack on my 2018 179. The connection wont stay tight and I'd like to replace it with an ATO style fuse that will stay connected I'm hoping. Does anyone know off hand what amp the fuse is for the jack and what I should replace it with?

When I installed a power jack on the 179 we used to have, it came with an inline breaker, which I installed into the lid of the battery box. The information I have found by searching indicates that most often the fuse is 30A. Not knowing your jack or how it was connected, I would guess that it should be a 30A fuse or breaker. This video may help.

Also, make sure your issue isn't a ground issue. If it is grounded through the mount, loosen and then tighten the mounting bolts while the trailer is hitched to your tow vehicle. That will make sure the jack is making a good electrical connection to the frame. If you remove and replace one bolt at a time, that will let you clean the area of the bolt to try to make sure you have good metal to metal contact.

I hope this helps and you can get the jack working properly. I had a jack go bad and it siezed up. At least it happened while it was still under warranty.

Thanks for the info Stephen. I thought it would be a 30a fuse but I couldn't tell by looking at the glass tube type fuse that was there. I know it's the fuse because if I push the wires between the fuse location tight it works, and if I don't it wont work. I've been putting this fix off for a couple seasons now and I'm just going to deal with it now lol.

If it is a glass fuse, you should be able to remove it from the holder and read the value on one of the metal ends. I have one here that on one end has, "BUSS AGC 5A" and on the other end is 250V and the UL and CSA symbols. Strange that it has a glass fuse and not a blade type fuse like is shown in the video I linked. I wouldn't have expected that.
