After de-winterizing my RPOD 196, I noticed that the kitchen sink was not draining as quickly as I thought it should. I noticed that at the top of the sink drain there appeared to be a solid round disk. Although the water did eventually drain from the sink it did seem slow.  Does this solid round disk serve a specific purpose and should it be serviced periodically?

Could that disc serve the purpose as a 'stopper' to keep the water in the sink?  Does it pop up and down with a spring action or can you literally pull it off and remove?  With more info or if you can post a picture we will be able to give a more definitive answer.

Also is there a sink in the bathroom and is that sink draining slowly also?  Is there an indoor shower and how is that drain working? These answers may help you understand the problem.

Thanks for your timely response.  The disk does not appear to be spring loaded, it appears to be stationary and fixed.  My guess is that is that this device restricts odors seeping back into the RV, but isn't that the purpose of the "P" trap.  The disk is located just below the top of the sink. I have repositioned the RV to its storage location, so I am unable to provide pictures.  My biggest question is whether other RPod owners have a similar device in their kitchen sinks?
