Hey there - new to the forum and a new owner here. We picked up our new 2023 R-Pod 180 from the dealer yesterday and are currently on our shakedown trip. We have owned a towable camper before (KZ Spree 24’ Bunkhouse) so we have experience with RV water heaters.

Our hot water heater is not heating. I’ve read other threads on the forum, and links for a few YouTube videos were watched to see if we could troubleshoot the problem. We’re plugged into shore power and have a full propane tank. We have water flow to the faucets. The breaker isn’t popped, and the switch outside on the hot water heater itself is flipped to on as well as the propane switch inside the camper. Neither the electric nor the propane seem to be heating the hot water tank. I can confirm that the tank is pressurized and I have checked it many times since set up yesterday afternoon, but the water in the tank is not hot. Before I call the dealer and they tell me to pack it up and bring it in, is there anything else you can think I may have missed? Thanks for any help you all can offer.

There should be 2 reset buttons on the outside of the water heater tank (located above the 120 volt on/off switch for the water heater).  One of the resets is for the LP gas side and the second reset button is for the electric side of the heater.  The only other problem on the electric side could be a fuse that is "blown" in the breaker box for 120 volt water heater. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Jay. I have tried resetting both of those, and I can’t find any blown fuses or breakers. The water heater breaker is clearly marked. Is there a fuse in addition to the breaker that could be linked?

I have a 2019 179 model and I don't know of any additional fusing in the water heater wiring. You might want to check the water heater's on/off switch to make sure that works properly.  That is rather easy, the switch just pulls out of the faceplate of the water heater.  Be gentle, the switch is just plastic. Hope you find the problem.

Well, dealer diagnosed the problem and it was not just me. The propane’s sensor had disconnected so the system wasn’t getting a lighting confirmation and would cut off after a few seconds. That’s been fixed. The electric heating element had a screw out, so they quickly replaced it and confirmed current is running through the unit.

Thanks for the follow through, however I have never been diagnosed with a missing screw just a loose one. Cry

Great thread...on my Rpod 202 I had no idea there was an electric switch option for shore power as I have never been camping with it to somewhere with hookups until this weekend.  But over dinner the first night as I was swearing under my breath about the gas not lighting I read the owners manual to find there is an electric switch to turn on, hit the reset buttons and sure enough...hot water.  Keeping finding out new perks....
