A&L RV Sales is based in Tennessee. Crisp RV in Chocowinity, which is near Greenville, became part of A&L RV Sales. There are five locations in Tennessee, and one each in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.

We encountered A&L RV sales at the Raleigh RV show. That is where we made a deposit on the Cherokee Grey Wolf 24JS and agreed to trade our 2016 RP-179. After the RV show, we made an appointment to go to Chocowinity to complete the purchase and to take the RP-179 and bring home the Grey Wolf. The location is in a small town and is located along US-17. We had to detour around a bridge closure to get there, but that was okay.

The personnel are friendly and I had a good walk-through while the service people changed the Equal-i-zer hitch to suit the Grey Wolf. That involved changing the ball from a 2" ball to a 2-5/16" ball and setting the hitch height properly. Locations of things like the winterizing valve and basic operation were shown. These things were familiar from our time with the 179, so we did not need to take too much time with those.

We brought out Grey Wolf home and then it was that I started to see things that I had not seen at the show or during the walk-through. These were things that the dealer should have noticed and/or checked. These included the wheel well trim that was not installed correctly and was not parallel to the body; a water pump that was not working; a couple of dents; and some scratches on the driver's side. Also, I had been hearing a clicking sound from the tankless water heater. It had gotten switched on. Fortunately, the gas was off, so no damage there. I discovered the water pump flaw when I went to dewinterize so that when my brother and his wife showed up, they could stay in the Grey Wolf since we don't have a spare bedroom. I ended up just connecting the hose to the faucet and they had water, but it was a waste of 40 gallons since I ended up dumping it without completing the sanitizing. I ended up winterizing since we were expecting sub-freezing temperatures after they left.

I contacted A&L RV sales and sent pictures of the flawed areas. It is down at Chocowinity so that the warranty work can be completed. The service people are polite and helpful. The only problem is in communications. They have not been contacting me to update me even though I was told they would. I end up calling and getting the information so it isn't too bad.

If I had to give letter grades, they would be like this:

Sales:  A
attitude: A
helpfulness: A
knowledge of trailer: B
Service:
pre-sales service (i/e inspection and quality control): C
attitude: A
helpfulness: A
communications: C
Parts:
Not graded. They have a very small showroom and their assortment of parts is limited. They can order things needed. The Grey Wolf comes with the Lippert Ladder Prep, for example. However, they do not have the ladder and I was told that the ladders were on back order and unavailable. However, Amazon has them as well as a less expensive alternative that looks to the the same as Lippert's, only with a different label (RecPro RV On-The_Go Telescoping Ladder for $169.95 vs. Lippert's $221.61) I am sure it would have been marked up significantly if I had ordered it through the dealer.

Overall, I think I would give A&L RV sales a B+. I could only wish they were closer so I would not need to drive so much to get there. Hopefully, repairs will be completed quickly and we will be able to get some local trips in before we take off to go visit our daughters and grandchildren.
