Hey all,
Recently bought a 2018 R-pod 179 Forrest River. I replaced the battery today and accidentally hooked up the terminals backwards, and now none of the electrics will work, even when hooked up to my rig. I checked all of the fuses in the fuse box, but someone told me there may be a fuse somewhere else? They said there is usually one outside the trailer near the battery, but I don’t see one. Please help! Sincerely, Camper in the Dark |

There are two 40A fuses in the middle of your power center. They are meant to blow in a reverse polarity situation like this to protect the converter. If you are lucky, you will replace the fuses after wiring the battery correctly and all will be well. Please post if it works or not. Welcome and congratulations. I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories with your RPod. We all have the learning curve. I've made my share of mistakes and learned a lot from them. This will end up just being a minor incovenience (I hope). |

Hey Stephen!
There’s only one fuse labeled “40”, and it looks intact to me. Would there be a second fuse located somewhere else? |

Dear Camper in the Dark:
Don't do that anymore! When you say none of the electrics will work, do you mean, nothing, zip, nada, even when the camper is plugged into shore power?

Podwerks,
The taillights and turn signals work, but absolutely nothing else. We haven’t had a chance to hook up to external power besides from a vehicle as we’re currently wild camping. |

Okay, what model of power center do you have? Is it the WFCO 8955? If so, in the center to the left of the stack of fuses and to the right of the breakers, partially hidden behind the faceplate are two 40A fuses. Don't judge by appearance. Pull them out and physically look at them from the side. Preferably, use a multimeter to check them Sometimes they may appear to be okay, but still be blown. If you have a different model of converter, then you would need to look on WFCO's site for information related to that model.
