The black channel covers that  run the length of the trailer along the roofline on my 179 have cracked and given up.  Anyone have a pointer where I can get new ones?  They appear to be 7/8" wide.  Many thanks in advance for any pointers.

I was able to buy this by the foot from an rv store. Does anyone know if that is merely decorative or if it is somehow important?  Mine has come loose again.

Since it covers screws I ass-u-me that it is more than decorative and would help avoid leaking.

On our popup and our 30’ RV, this molding trim screw cover has an end cap and screw on each end that keeps it from moving and being wind-blown off, the screw is then caulked to prevent winter penetration while the ones under the molding are left uncaulked. They sell all this on Amazon. Just search “RV channel molding”. It was suggested by someone elsewhere that you should use heavy duty vinyl.  Be sure you are looking at the widths because it comes in several widths.
