Short story, my wife and I just bought an RP-180, and we're excited to use it to "get away" at least for a night once a month.
Long story:
We've had a dream for a while to buy an RV once I retire and mostly live out of it visiting national parks and such. Even though that's a little over 15 years away, last spring, we decided to go to a sportsman's show just for fun and check out different RV floor plans to see what we might like when we buy one. They had an RP-180 on display, and we checked that out too just cause it was there. We already had a plan to buy a replacement for my truck and drive it up with my parents this summer (we live in Anchorage, AK and my parents live near Kansas City, KS). I had been considering buying a travel trailer near KC for the trip and selling it once we got to AK. After checking out the 180, I asked my wife, "What if we bought a travel trailer for the trip up...and then didn't sell it once we got here?" She agreed it would be a great idea to have a trailer for the time leading to retirement. We looked at a little over 100 models of travel trailers comparing floor plans. After all that, the 180 was our favorite. I Googled 180's in the KC area. I found a 2019 180 on clearance at AOKRVs in Missouri. By the time I called, it was on sale for even less at a fair event. I bought it for 40% off MSRP. It's currently sitting in my parents' backyard. I fly down in April, my dad and I will build an extension for the dinette so my wife and I can sleep on it for this trip, and then the 4 of us will take a 3 week trip to drive home to Alaska. We can't wait!
