Recently purchased a 2012 R-Pod 177 Hood River Edition (HRE).  Looked at newer and bigger models, but decided this is best for my wife and I right now.  We've been on one local voyage and plan to take it on a little road trip soon.  So far, we have just been trying to figure out how we want to store things and what all we need.  We had a pop-up so many things we already had.

As many of you know, the Hood River Edition (HRE) has LT235/75r15 mud/snow tires.  We will probably never take it off-road and are looking for other tire alternatives for better highway mileage, etc..  So, any suggestions here would be welcomed.  I especially would like to know if a 225/75r15 trailer tire will fit the nice HRE wheels.

Thanks for this forum.  I have used it many times over the past several weeks!

I can't answer your tire question but congrats on the pod-purchase and welcome to the forum.  I'm new too (2016 172) and have found these folks invaluable.

Yes, a 225/75R15 trailer tire should fit those wheels fine. If you get a load range D tire its a nice upgrade in load capacity and should reduce your rolling resistance as well.

The tires on your 2012 are most likely past their use-by date, so you're looking for new tires anyway. Our HRE has ST235/75R15 (ST = trailer, LT = truck). Those are one-off tires, and you would have a really hard time to find the same size anywhere. The closest match size-wise would be ST225/75R15. The only thing you might want to do is upgrade from load range C to load range D. LRD will take a higher pressure and a higher load. Will probably be a rougher ride, but should be less prone to blow out.
