Greetings:
I always drink bottled water, use tank water for cleaning, I put a half cup of bleach in the tank a couple of times during the summer.  I find it takes less water to have a pot along and heat the water as needed on the stove, instead of using the water heater.  It only takes a short time to heat up.

if you think boats are bad, try an airplane sometime. Having owned both, I see boats as a relative bargain. Unless you have an experimental aircraft you have to buy FAA approved parts and have them installed by a certified airframe and powerplant mechanic. The aircraft has to undergo an annual inspection and will be declared unairworthy if it doesn't pass until it is repaired, by the shop that failed it of course since that is where the airplane is now sitting all torn apart. Engine overhauls start at about $20K not including removal and replacement and that's for a little 100 hp engine from a two seater. Its a lot like playing russian roulette except the bullets are $1000 bills. And avgas is about $5 per gallon and airplanes burn up a lot of fuel.

OTOH there is not much that compared to the freedom of flight....

I always referred to our airplane as a hole in the sky into which you pour money.

I calculated one time I had spent just over $100,000 on motorcycles in my lifetime, not including fuel, injuries, gear, insurance, and trip expenses.

Like they always say, you gotta 'pay' to 'play'.

And with a new camper, I've been infected with a whole new strain of the disease. My latest symptom, today I ordered sun shades for the awning. No matter where you camp, the awning shade never hits you. You keep moving your chair all over the place trying to get into the shade.
 I do miss the dome.

This is similar to the campfire corollary. No matter which side of the campfire you sit on, the smoke will always blow toward you.

What are two best days in an airplane owners life?

1) The day you buy your plane
2) The day you sell it.

Very true. The same is true with big boats in my experience, but not RV's. They don't seem to generate quite as intensely positive or negative feelings in me for some reason.

Lol glueGuy, that is so true. I just spent a week with my wife complaining no matter where she sat the smoke was in her eyes. I can especially enjoy relate to this with a good chuckle.

I was a airplane owner for 33 years.  Then I realized that the airplane owned me, so I sold it and bought an Rpod.  Very happy now.

Ha Ha. Every once in a while I find myself missing my airplanes. Then I get out my old file and look at the some of my maintenance bills, which I've kept just for that purpose. If that doesn't work I ask my wife to whack me upside the head a couple of times. That generally does the trick.Ouch

Rpods are a LOT easier to live with.
