I am going to be storing my R-Pod where it might not be secure against battery theft .I have dual batteries behind the propane tank . Open for suggestions on how to lock them down without having to remove them every time .

Lockable steel box to delay the amateurs. If someone really wants your batteries they are gone.

I got a trailer tongue box from harbor freight reasonable....use self tapping screws to mount it, put batteries in, close lid and lock. fits nicely behind the propane tanks.

Or, if you have them in standard plastic boxes, consider making a lockdown mechanism like the one I made for our 179. I think it would be enough to convince a potential battery thief to look elsewhere for easier pickings. You can see both version 1 and version 2 (the better one in my opinion since it is easier for me to unlock and get to the batteries) in my mods (see link in signature).

My pod came to me used with a regular truck toolbox mounted behind twin tanks. Fits great!

Thanks for the replies guys . . being as cheap as I am I have made this up for securing my batteries. Sure it is just a deterrent and the chain could be cut but hopefully they would move on for easier pickings .
It is a 2 x 8 with notches in the centre of each side and cleats into the lower parts of the battery lids so the 2 x 8 cannot be pulled out sideways and it can't be lifted without either cutting the chain or undoing the lock on the mini chain binder . |

And you have a nice shelf to set things while you're hooking up your trailer. Just don't forget to put them away before you leave. I know, I speak from sad experience.
