I have a 2015 R-Pod 179 with a single propane tank.  Has anyone installed a dual propane tank holder on this model?  Is there enough room for this?  Thanks

Sure, many owners have. The "tongue" is the same on all Pods. Buy a dual tank mount, remove the single tank mount, install the dual mount. Your choice on manually switching the existing regulator from tank to tank as needed, or replacing it with a dual tank auto switchover regulator.

Great mod but watch your tongue weight if you boondock and also go to dual batteries on the 179. If you do both those mods and fill your fresh water tank you’ll be pushing up near 600 lbs tongue weight.

Greetings
I removed the single tank mount and built a mount for dual tanks out of angle iron, all bolted together.  I bought a new dual tank regulator.  I used 5/8  threaded rod and a clamp made out of 1 inch square tubing to clamp the tanks down.  The major deal is that you do increase the hitch weight, but you don't have to get up in the middle of the night to change tanks.  I made the bracket just the width so that a cover would fit. Safe travels.

I dropped in a 30 pounder. I already had this tank.

The 30# tank itself only weighs a little bit more, but carries about 50% more fuel.

Yeah I know, can't exchange, cant use the OEM plastic POS cover, etc...but I will be carrying a 20 pounder in the pickup bed/topper as a spare/exchange unit.
